CHRISTCHURCH CRUISER CLUB
RIDE OUT RULES AND GUIDELINES
• At each ride out meeting point the designated Road Captain
will explain to all destination, route, rest stops including fuel
and appoint Road Marshals, as required.
• The ride out format will be Road Captain, Marshals, Club
Riders and Back Markers.
• Staggered riding where possible and remember the two second
rule. If road conditions necessitate ride in single file.
• The Back Marker will remain at the rear of the ride, and
drop off with any rider who pulls over (for whatever reason). The
Road Captain will pull ride over at a point that he/she feels is
safe for all the ride and await outcome, (radio/phone).
• Marshals will assist ride in marking direction of travel.
Any marshal or rider dropped off, must remain at position until
Back Marker releases them.
• Ride within your own capabilities. Keep your view and options
open, check your mirrors, cancel your indicators after use and remember
you are not on your own. NO OVERTAKING in the ride unless it is
an emergency. This is for your safety.
• Ensure your bike is roadworthy, taxed and insured and that
you have adequate breakdown cover before coming on a ride.
• Weather and road conditions may necessitate a change of
route or destination.
• The aim of the Road Captain and Marshals is to take the
Club riders to a destination and return as smoothly and SAFELY as
possible. Should any rider put the ride and riders in any jeopardy
for any reason whatsoever, the Road Captain will speak to the rider
concerned as soon as possible. SERIOUS BREACH of above may result
in removal of rider.
• Any rider failing to show improvement after three verbal
warnings over 12 months may have his or her membership suspended
or cancelled (subject to committee).
• REMEMBER SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT
